WHAT IS ELPIS ACADEMY?

From the time that Elpis Academy was founded, it has always been dedicated to fostering the needs of gifted and advanced students.  By being focused primarily on student enrichment, Elpis Academy is able to provide supplemental material and training to those students who feel under-challenged in a regular classroom setting.

WHAT DO WE MEAN BY “STUDENT ENRICHMENT”?

The majority of Elpis Academy courses are geared towards students who are already excelling in their subjects rather than towards students who are in need of remedial help.  Our classes provide each person with work that is above his or her grade level.  We offer introductions to concepts that, under normal circumstances, a student would not encounter for another few months or even years.  Thus, our students are given enriching material that build on the foundations that they have already grasped.

WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT FROM OTHER SCHOOLS?

The goal of Elpis Academy is to unlock the potential in everyone that enrolls in our courses.  Whether it is in business, the arts, or the sciences, we believe that inside every student lies an untapped mine of possibilities just waiting to come to life.  We firmly implant the fundamental skills that are so important to overall academic performance by challenging students to go beyond what is necessary and to apply what they have learned to more thought-provoking and stimulating problems.  Because we focus on building on the foundations that children already have, we are able to find ways to draw out each person’s hidden talents and potential to excel.  At Elpis, we believe that there is nothing a person cannot learn how to do.  Our high standards of achievement encourage all of our students to believe that they could always be better and to prove this by excelling in tasks both within and outside of the Academy.

WHAT OTHER TYPES OF COURSES DO WE OFFER?

On top of the various advanced English, math, and science courses that we offer, Elpis Academy also provides courses that prepare students for several math and science contests.  In addition, we teach intensive preparation classes for both the SSATs and the SATs that include mock tests and analyses of results.  French classes for both elementary and high school students and ESL classes for adults are also available.
